Ned Zimmer
Ned Zimmer is the Chief Executive Officer at Blue Ridge Envisioneering (BRE) and Black Signal
Technologies, building a multi-functional team of engineers and scientists and delivering cutting-edge
signal processing, geolocation, and tracking technologies to Defense customers. Prior to BRE’s
acquisition by Black Signal, Ned co-founded BRE and grew BRE from three initial employees to 45,
developing BRE’s reputation for technical excellence and customer satisfaction, and growing BRE’s
customer base to include nine distinct agencies/military branches, and teaming with over twenty prime
contractors to fulfill mission requirements. In this time BRE delivered prototype and operational
capabilities to Navy ships, USAF aircraft, and other government operating locations. Ned was previously
a senior manager at Research Associates of Syracuse, where he led teams and managed customer
interfaces across multiple programs. He also led various programs at ITT Defense, Stanford Telecom,
TASC, and Lockheed Martin. He holds a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Syracuse
University, and a bachelor’s in Physics and Mathematics from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
